Rebecca K. Hsia

Artistic Statement:

Rebecca K. Hsia is passionate about Arts Activism, which she defines as telling stories that do not fit in traditional narratives and bringing stories about those who are often marginalized or oppressed to the stage. Rebecca loves working on new works especially to help bring new voices and narratives to the stage.

Bio:

Rebecca K. Hsia is an LA and Seattle-based multi hyphenate artist. Select SM credits include: IAMA (Radical) Geffen Playhouse (Beyond the Barracks: Veteran Cultural Identity Monologues and PA for Tiny Father), Center for New Performance (Etta and Ella on the Upper West Side), Village Theatre (Annual New Works Festival of Musicals); The 5th Avenue Theatre (PA for Rock of Ages, West Side Story, and First Draft); Intiman Theatre (Caught and IEAP 2018); Annex Theatre (Silhouette, 2018 Gregory Award winner for Best New Play); Centerstage Theatre (Pajama Game and Rapunzel: A Holiday Pantomime); and Fantastic.Z Theatre (Femme). Rebecca has also worked Deck Crew for Geffen Playhouse (POTUS Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive and Fat Ham). As a Playwright, Rebecca has written “Making of the Gods” and the “Way Back” (Arts in the Armed Forces (AITAF) Bridge Award Semi-Finalist).
