Ly Eisenstein is a queer gender-nonconforming artist who splits their time between Los Angeles and New York. Ly is a CalArts graduate with a dual degree in Lighting Design and Integrated Media and a minor in Digital Art. They work in many different mediums including light, video, and projection and combine these to create thoughtful immersive installations and shows. They love to use sensory overload and high contrast in their art. Some of their recurring visual and conceptual themes include light and shadow, the soft shape yet sharp lines of the human body, and the complex interplay between pleasure and pain. They find that contradictory elements evoke compelling reactions from their audience; the more intense the reaction, the better.
